Canvas

Canvas is the university's primary learning management system (LMS). It is used in conjunction with classroom instruction on-campus, for remote teaching, fully-online courses, and various training and communication needs. It is accessed through a web browser. Limited features are offered through Canvas mobile apps. Florida Tech has three versions of Canvas. Most employees have access to fit.instructure.com. Access to other versions depends on individual roles.

Classroom Devices & Equipment

Request non-emergency service for classroom equipment, such as instructor workstations, projectors, document cameras, display panels, control systems, microphones, or cameras.

Panopto

Panopto is used for lecture capture and hosting videos that can be shared online or through a Canvas course. Panopto also provides backups for Zoom cloud recordings. Employees have access through Canvas courses (fit.instructure.com), or via the "Panopto Canvas" sign-in option via the link below. Panopto is commonly used through a web browser. The Panopto application can be installed to access additional video editing features.

PlayPosit

PlayPosit adds interactive content to online videos. PlayPosit is available to all employees. It is accessed through through a web browser and most commonly used with Canvas (fit.instructure.com) as an External Tool available through Assignments.

EvaluationKit

EvaluationKit, also called Watermark Course Evaluations & Surveys, is used to survey students for feedback about their courses and instructors. Faculty and select academic department roles have access to the system. EvaluationKit is accessed through Canvas (fit.instructure.com) or via links sent privately through email.

Honorlock upholds academic integrity through online exam proctoring. Faculty have access through Canvas (fit.instructure.com).

Poll Everywhere

Poll Everywhere is a student-response system. It is a great solution for formative assessments and to improve student engagement in class.

It provides instructors with a platform to post questions from the web, in a presentation, or in Canvas. Students can respond and instructors can view results in real time. Rosters and grades can be linked to Canvas.

Instructors should request a licensed account through the service link below. With a Poll Everywhere license, instructors can receive up to 1,500 responses per poll question.

Turnitin

Turnitin is used to measure originality and detect plagiarism. Current faculty have access through Canvas Assignments (fit.instructure.com and floridatech.instructure.com).

Respondus

Respondus 4.0 is a powerful tool for creating and managing exams that can be printed to paper or published directly to Canvas. Respondus is available to all Florida Tech employees. Respondus is an installed application for Windows systems.

Zoom

Zoom is a popular choice for holding online meetings, presentations, webinars, and class lectures. All Florida Tech employees are provided a basic Zoom license. Zoom can be installed as an application or accessed via a web browser.
