Overview
Troubleshooting includes diagnostic and repair or warranty replacement of individual components or the whole computer setup. It consists of the computer and any peripheral devices attached to it, including the keyboard, mouse, monitors, and printers.
What to Expect
Tech Support works on only assets that belong to Florida Tech. We can provide recommendations and suggestions. However, our ability to work hands-on with personal devices is severely limited.
The desktop Support staff will investigate and resolve the following issues: Hardware Malfunctions, Configuration Settings, Operating Systems, Application Issues, and Security Settings. Any other problems that may present themselves with the equipment will be evaluated case-by-case.
Dell warranty repairs through the 3-year Pro Plus Support program are serviced by Dell technicians on-site at the Desktop Support office located in Shaw Hall.
All other systems may require shipment of computers to their vendors. It does not cover the cost of equipment shipping. Apple systems under vendor warranty may be serviced through Apple Support or through a local Apple-approved vendor.
Once a request is submitted, a technician will reach out to confirm the requested date and time. We can also troubleshoot by phone, virtual session, or on-site appointment.
