Overview

Q:  What is PantherOne Mobile ID for Apple? 

A:  PantherOne Mobile ID works in place of your physical Panther Card and is available on your iPhone, Apple Watch, or both. 


Q:  Do I have to use PantherOne Mobile ID? 

A:  No, participation in PantherOne Mobile ID is voluntary at this time. Panther Card users who do not elect to use PantherOne Mobile ID may continue using their card as normal.


Q:  How many devices can I use for PantherOne Mobile ID?  

A: You can use PantherOne Mobile ID on one eligible iPhone or up to two eligible Apple devices (one iPhone and one Apple Watch) that are signed into iCloud with the same Apple ID.  


Q:  Can I switch back to my physical Panther Card after opting-in to PantherOne Mobile ID? 

A:   To reactivate your physical Panther Card, contact the Access Control Office to request that your PantherOne Mobile ID be disabled and your Panther Card be re-enabled.

Getting Started

Q:  What do I need before I start using PantherOne Mobile ID? 

A:  You will need an Apple device with the following: 

  • iPhone SE, iPhone 7 or later devices running iOS 12 or later

  • Apple Watch Series 1 and later devices running Watch OS 5 or later

  • Apple Wallet set up with at least one card already added 

Note: You cannot use PantherOne Mobile ID on both an Android and an Apple device. 


Q: How do I verify and/or update my iPhone device software version?

1.  On your device, go to Settings > General > Software Updates.

2.  If your device is running iOS 12.2 or later, you’re ready to use PantherOne Mobile ID.

3.  If not, tap Download > Install. You may need to enter your passcode to start the update.

4.  Once the download is complete, follow the instructions on your phone to finish upgrading to the latest version of iOS.


Q: How do I verify and/or update my Apple Watch device software version?

1.  The Series # for your Apple Watch can be found on the back of the Watch.

a.  Note: The Series 0 Watch is not eligible for this program.

Q:  How do I set up PantherOne Mobile ID on my Apple device(s)? 

A:   To get started, ensure you have an iPhone SE, iPhone 7 or later device that runs iOS 12 or later. 

  • You can also use PantherOne Mobile ID on Apple Watch Series 1 and later devices running Watch OS 5 or later – but setup needs to take place on your iPhone. 

You will also need to have an approved Panther Card photo. If you have not done so yet, upload a photo. If you do not already have an approved Panther Card photo or upload a new photo, you will not be able to usea PantherOne Mobile ID. 

1.  Ensure you are signed into iCloud with your Apple ID 

2.  Download the GET Mobile app from the App Store 

3.  Open the GET Mobile app on your iPhone 

4.  Choose Florida Tech from the dropdown list 

5. Login using your TRACKS username and password, and then complete the DUO authentication 

6.  Choose either Turn On Face ID or I'll Do It Later

7.  Set a 4-digit PIN for PantherOne Mobile ID, then confirm the PIN

8.  Enter your Florida Tech email address and phone number 

9.  Tap the Add to Apple Wallet icon button, then select whether you would like to add PantherOne Mobile ID to your iPhone or Apple Watch 

a.  You may add PantherOne Mobile ID to both device types if you wish 

b.  If you want to authorize your Apple Watch, go back through the Add to Apple Wallet process again once your iPhone is authorized  

10.  Agree to the Terms and Conditions 

11.  Your PantherOne Mobile ID Card will now be provisioned in your Apple Wallet 

Note: Do not delete the GET Mobile app. If you delete the GET Mobile app, the PantherOne Mobile ID usage functions will be removed as well.

Using PantherOne Mobile ID

Q:  How do I use PantherOne Mobile ID around campus? 

A:  To use PantherOne Mobile ID at a reader, hold the top of the iPhone to the reader or the face of the Watch near the reader, within at least 1 inch.

You do not have to bring anything up on your device; the screen can be dark or asleep.

The device will automatically bring the PantherOne Mobile ID credential from your Apple Wallet.

For door access, the card reader will beep and the light at the top will turn green once the door has been successfully unlocked.

You may need to be signed into iCloud for full functionality.

PantherOne Mobile ID features the Express Mode transaction experience. You should simply approach a card reader with a dark screen on your iPhone or Apple Watch without needing to authenticate via Face ID or Touch ID. Express Mode enables an extremely fast, seamless experience as you move through campus. 

When you add PantherOne Mobile ID to Apple Wallet, Express Mode is turned on by default. If you don’t want to use Express Mode, you can turn it off. To turn it off, open Wallet, tap your PantherOne Mobile ID Card, tap the info button in the top right, and tap the Express Mode on/off button. 


Q:  How do I access PantherOne Mobile ID on my iPhone? 

A:  To access PantherOne Mobile ID after you add it to Apple Wallet: 

1.  Open the Apple Wallet app 

2.  Swipe up to view your stored cards 

3.  Tap your PantherOne Mobile ID Card  

You can also find your PantherOne Mobile ID Card in your iPhone settings. Tap Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay > Other Cards

Lastly, you can manage PantherOne Mobile ID from an internet browser.


Q:  Can I view my meal plan, FlexCredit, or Panther Cash balances on PantherOne Mobile ID? 

A:  Yes, you can view your balances within Apple Wallet or within the GET Mobile app. 

To view Meal Plans, FlexCredit, or Panther Cash balances within Apple Wallet:

1. Bring up your PantherOne Mobile ID card within the Wallet, or open the Wallet app

2. Tap on the PantherOne Mobile ID card

3. Available balances will be displayed on the front of the PantherOne Mobile ID card

To view Meal Plans, FlexCredit, or Panther Cash balances within the GET Mobile app:

1. Open the GET Mobile app

2. Log in

3. Navigate to the Accounts section to view your balances and recent transactions


Q: Can I add funds to my PantherOne Mobile ID?

A: Yes, follow this step-by-step guide to add funds to your PantherOne Mobile ID.


Q: Can I view my 90x number (Student or Employee ID number) on PantherOne Mobile ID?

A: Yes, you can view your 90x number (your Student or Employee ID number) within the Apple Wallet app.

To view your 90x number (your Student or Employee ID number) for verification purposes:

1. Open the Apple Wallet app

2. Tap on the PantherOne Mobile ID card

3. Tap the Information icon

4. Your 90x number (your Student or Employee ID number) will display under your name

Managing PantherOne Mobile ID

Q:  If I get a new Apple iPhone, how do I transfer my PantherOne Mobile ID? 

A:  Follow these steps:

1. Open the GET Mobile app on the iPhone and sign in

2. Tap Settings

3. Tap Unlink Mobile Wallet ID 

4. Tap Unlink button when prompted

5. Go to the Settings app on your iPhone. You can do this on the old or new device

6.  Click on your name on the top of the menu

7.  Scroll down to the list of devices and select the OLD iPhone or Apple Watch (you can see the model version under the name)

8.  Scroll down and select Remove Items 

9.  Once the card is removed (this may take a moment), close/reopen the GET app and you will be able to add your PantherOne Mobile ID card to your new device following the setup instructions in the Getting Started section above


Q: How can I remove PantherOne Mobile ID from my Apple Wallet?

A: Follow these steps:

1. Open the GET Mobile app on the iPhone and sign in

2. Tap Settings

3. Tap Unlink Mobile Wallet ID 

4. Tap Unlink button when prompted


Q:  What happens if I lose my Apple iPhone or Watch? What happens if I find it later? 

A:  Your other device will continue to work; however, you should use the Find My app (iPhone) or Find Devices app (Apple Watch) to mark the missing device as lost until it is found. Visit Apple’s If your iPhone or iPad is lost or stolen article to mark the device as lost via iCloud.com. 

You can also contact the Access Control Office and request to deactivate  your PantherOne Mobile ID.

You can reactivate PantherOne Mobile ID by contacting the Access Control Office.


Q:  Do I need to reactivate my devices each term?

A:  No. As long as your enrollment status meets our eligibility requirements, the devices you have enrolled in will remain current. For security purposes, we may deactivate devices that have not been used for an extended period. You can re-enroll those devices whenever you wish.


Q:  What if I am away from campus for the semester and I don’t want my PantherOne Mobile ID​​​​​​​ on my device? Can I delete and re-add it later?

A:  Yes, you can remove your credential from Apple Wallet and re-add it when you return.* 

To remove your PantherOne Mobile ID, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to the Apple Wallet app

2. Tap the information icon in the top-right corner

3. Scroll to the bottom

4. Select Remove Card

To remove your Apple Watch credential, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to the Watch app on your Phone

2. Scroll to the bottom and select Wallet & Apple Pay

3. Tap on your PantherOne Mobile ID, scroll to the bottom and select Remove Card

*To add credentials back onto your device, you must meet eligibility requirements and not have exceeded the device limit for your PantherOne Mobile ID. 


Q:  Why can’t I double-tap the home button or side button when my iPhone is locked to see my balances on PantherOne Mobile ID​​​​​​​? 

A: When using Express Mode (iPhone 6s or later), PantherOne Mobile ID may not be displayed with other cards in Apple Wallet for security reasons.  In many cases, it does display.


Q:  If I have a passcode on my iPhone, will I have to enter it every time? 

A: If you are using Express Mode, you do not have to do anything. If you are not using Express Mode, you will have to authenticate each time you access your phone. This is a user security preference.   

Note: Express Mode is turned on by default.   


Q:  Can I use PantherOne Mobile ID if my iPhone or Watch has a dead battery? 

A: No, you will need to ensure that your device is charged to utilize PantherOne Mobile ID. 

On iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, and later versions, you can use power reserve with PantherOne Mobile ID when low on battery. PantherOne Mobile ID is available for up to five hours when Express Mode is enabled, and the device’s battery needs to be charged.


Q:  Can I use PantherOne Mobile ID​​​​​​​ without a cellular signal? 

A:  PantherOne Mobile ID can be used even if your iPhone or Apple Watch does not have network connectivity, as it is stored on your device.

Troubleshooting PantherOne Mobile ID

Q:  I have added PantherOne Mobile ID to my iPhone, but it is not working. What should I do? 

A:  Please try the following: 

  • Ensure you are presenting PantherOne Mobile ID properly at the reader – straight up and down typically works best. 

  • If you are presenting PantherOne Mobile ID properly at the reader, but the reader is not reacting: 

1.  Open the GET Mobile app 

2.  Log in if not already logged in 

  • Some devices require the user to log-in to the GET Mobile app at least once daily in order to utilize PantherOne Mobile ID 

3.  Try to present PantherOne Mobile ID to the reader again 

  • Ensure you have properly provisioned PantherOne Mobile ID.

1.  Open the GET Mobile app 

2.  Verify the status of PantherOne Mobile ID reads “ID added to Apple Wallet” 

  • If PantherOne Mobile ID is not set-up, the status will read “Add to Apple Wallet” 

3.  Follow the steps above in the “How do I get PantherOne Mobile ID on my Apple device(s)?” section to properly provision PantherOne Mobile ID.
