What is a MAC address?
MAC address stands for "Media Access Control" address. All network devices have one, and some have several. A MAC address is composed of 12 characters, both numbers and letters from A to F. Here we will explain how to find the MAC address of several devices:
Windows
- Go to Start Screen
- Type "cmd" and press enter
- Type "getmac /v" into the command prompt
- Your MAC address is listed below Physical Address

Note: You may have more then 1 Local Area Connection. If so, make sure you get the MAC address for the Ethernet/LAN card and also the Wireless adapter if your system is equipped with Wireless.
Macintosh OS X
- Click on the Apple icon in the top left hand corner and select System Preferences.
- Under the Internet & Network section click on the Network button.
- Select Ethernet from the list of network devices on the left.
- Click the Advanced button in the bottom right corner.
- Under the window that appears, click on the last tab labeled Ethernet.
- The MAC address will be listed as the Ethernet ID.

Android Phone/Tablet*

- From the Home Screen, go to your app drawer.
- Click on the Settings Icon.
- Scroll down to "About Phone" and select select it.
- Click on Status.
- Scroll down to "Wi-Fi MAC address" your MAC address will be listed below.

iPhone/iPad/iPod
- From the Home Screen, click on the Settings button (Gear icon)
- Click the General Button (also has Gear icon)
- Click the About tab.
- Scroll down to Wi-Fi Address. This is your iPhone's MAC address.
