How to Book an Appointment on Florida Tech Hub

1. Before You Start

  1. Sign in to The Hub with your Florida Tech account.
  2. Go to Booking. You can get there in three ways:
    • Click Book an appointment on the Home page.
    • Click New Appointment on the Appointments tab of My Booking.
    • Click New Spot on the My Spots tab of My Booking.

The steps you see depend on the kind of service you pick:

Service type Usually used for Steps
Time-based Tutoring, advising Service → Topic → Date & Time → Confirm
Testing Proctored tests at the Testing Center Service → Testing Info → Date & Time → Confirm
Supplemental Instruction (SI) Group study sessions for a course Service → Topic → Session → Confirm
Spots Flight blocks and other reserved resources Service → Resource → Spots → Confirm

On a computer, the progress bar on the left shows which step you're on. On a phone, it appears at the top of the page as "Step X of Y".

2. Choose a Service (All Types)

  1. On Select a Service, find the service you want:
    • Type in Search services to search by name or description.
    • Click a category chip, such as Tutoring or Advising, to show only that category. Click All Services to show everything again.
    • Click Read more to see a service's full description.
  2. Click Select next to the service.
    • If the button says Go, the service is booked outside The Hub, and clicking it opens that site in a new tab.
    • A Your advisor badge means your own advisor provides the service.
  3. The Service Policies window opens. Read it carefully. It covers:
    • Location and whether the service is in person or online
    • Hours and how far ahead you can book
    • Cancellation deadline
    • Daily and weekly booking limits
    • The no-show policy
  4. Click Agree. The button becomes active after a few seconds.

No-show limit: If you've missed too many appointments for a service, you'll see No-Show Limit Reached and won't be able to book that service online for a while. Contact the office listed in the message to book.

3. Time-Based Appointments (Tutoring & Advising)

Step 1: Select a Topic

  • Pick the course or topic you need help with. Use Search to filter the list.
  • Some services don't have topics. In that case this step is skipped and you go straight to Date & Time.
  • For Change Major advising, you'll choose the major you want to switch to instead of a topic.
  • If your topic isn't listed, contact the office shown at the bottom of the page.

Step 2: Pick a Date & Time

  1. Check the Time Zone. It's set to your device's time zone, and you can change it if needed.
  2. Click a date in the date strip.
  3. A list of open times appears. Each one shows the provider, the time, and the length of the appointment.
    • Assigned Advisor marks a time with your own advisor.
    • Seats left appears when more than one student can book the same time.
  4. Click In-person or Online next to the time you want. Only the formats the provider offers are shown.

If no times are open, a message explains why (for example, the date is blocked or the provider is fully booked) and lists who to contact. Try another date.

Step 3: Confirm & Submit

  1. Review the service, topic, provider, date, time, and location.
  2. Answer any questions under Additional Information. Fields marked * are required, and written answers need at least 5 characters.
  3. Click Submit.

4. Testing Center Appointments

Testing appointments are requests. The Testing Center reviews each one, and you'll get a confirmation email once it's approved.

Step 1: Testing Details

  1. Choose a Reason for Testing. If you have accommodations, this field is called Accommodation Reason, and you can also choose an optional Secondary Reason.
  2. Choose a Test Type: Test, Quiz, Exam, Midterm Exam, or Final Exam.
  3. Under Your Current Courses, click the course the test is for.
  4. Click Continue.

If your course isn't listed, contact the Testing Center.

Step 2: Choose a Date & Time

  1. Pick a date. The page shows how much notice the Testing Center needs, so dates that are too soon can't be picked.
  2. The Testing Center's hours for that day are shown.
  3. Pick a Start Time, then enter an End Time. The length of the test is shown below.
  4. Click Continue.

Step 3: Confirm & Submit

Review your reason, test type, course, instructor, date, time, and location, then click Submit Request.

5. Supplemental Instruction (SI) Sessions

SI sessions are scheduled group sessions run by SI leaders. Each session has its own date, time, and location, so instead of picking an open time, you join a session that's already scheduled.

Step 1: Select a Topic

Pick the course you want SI for.

Step 2: Available Sessions

  1. Upcoming sessions are grouped by date. Times are shown in your time zone.
  2. Each session shows its time, title, SI leader, location, and seats left.
  3. Click Select on the session you want. Sessions marked Full can't be booked.

If no sessions appear, none are scheduled yet for that course. Check back later.

Step 3: Confirm & Submit

Review the details, answer any questions, and click Submit.

Tip: SI sessions meet in different rooms. Always check the location in your appointment details.

6. Spots (Flight Blocks)

Spots let you reserve a place in a group, such as a flight block. Each block has a limited number of places.

Step 1: Select a Resource

  1. Pick the resource you want, such as the flight block for your term.
  2. Some resources only take reservations during a set window, shown under the resource name. A status tag tells you where that window stands:
    • Not Started: reservations haven't opened yet.
    • Ended: the reservation window has closed.
    • You can only select a resource while its window is open.

Step 2: Available Spots

  1. Each group or subgroup shows how many places are taken, for example 3/10.
  2. Click Select on the group you want. Groups marked Full can't be booked.
  3. Click the refresh button to see the latest counts.

Step 3: Confirm & Submit

Review the group and subgroup, answer any questions, and click Submit.

7. After You Book

When your booking goes through, you'll see Booking Confirmed! From there you can:

  • Click View Booked Items to open My Booking.
  • Click Book Another to start a new booking.

If you see Something Went Wrong, read the message, click Go Back, and try again or choose a different time.

Managing your bookings

Open My Booking to see everything you've booked:

Tab What it shows
Calendar Your appointments on a calendar
Appointments A list of your upcoming and past appointments
My Spots Your reserved spots, such as flight blocks

To cancel: Open the appointment and click Cancel. You can only cancel online before the service's cancellation deadline, which is listed in the Service Policies. After the deadline, the appointment details show who to contact.

Please cancel if you can't make it. If you miss an appointment without canceling, it counts as a no-show, and too many no-shows block you from booking that service online.

8. Need Help?

  • Questions about a service (hours, topics, or a booking you can't cancel online): contact that service's office. Its contact details appear on the policy window, the booking pages, and the confirmation page.
  • Problems with The Hub itself: click your profile picture in the top-right corner and choose Help and About. From there:
    • Click Get Help to submit a help request.
    • Click Suggest a Feature to share an idea for improving The Hub.
    • Check the status button under the version number. If it doesn't say All Systems Operational, The Hub may be having a known problem.
  • If you can't find a service you expected, click Get Help in Help and About.
