Summary
You can ask to take a test at the Student Success and Support Center (Testing Center) through The Hub, for example to use your testing accommodations or to make up a test you missed.
Testing appointments are requests. Your instructor reviews each one, and you'll get a confirmation email once it's approved.
Body
Before You Request
- Talk to your instructor first. Your instructor may decline a request they didn't know about.
- Request early. Requests should be made at least 48 hours in advance, not counting weekends. The booking page won't let you pick a date that's too soon.
- Make-up tests: Only students with a verified absence or health notice can take a missed test or quiz at the Testing Center.
- Accommodations: If you have testing accommodations from the Office of Accessibility Resources (OAR), the Testing Center applies them for you.
Start a Testing Request
- Sign in to The Hub with your Florida Tech account.
- Go to Booking. You can click Book an appointment on the Home page, or New Appointment on the Appointments tab of My Booking.
- On Select a Service, find the Testing Center service. Type testing in the Search services to find it quickly.
- Click Select.
- Read the Service Policies (location, hours, cancellation deadline, and no-show policy), then click Agree.
Step 1: Testing Details
-
Choose a Reason for Testing.
- Choose a Test Type: Test, Quiz, Exam, Midterm Exam, or Final Exam.
- Under Your Current Courses, click the course the test is for.
- Click Continue.
If your course isn't listed, contact the Testing Center.
Step 2: Choose a Date & Time
-
Pick a date. The page tells you how much notice the Testing Center needs.
-
The Testing Center's hours for that day are shown.
- Pick a Start Time, then pick or enter an End Time. The length of the test is shown below.
- Make sure the time includes any extra time you're allowed.
- Click Continue.
Step 3: Confirm & Submit
-
Review your reason, test type, course, instructor, date, time, and location.
-
Click Go Back to change anything.
- Click Submit Request.
You'll see Booking Confirmed! Your request has been sent to your instructor.
After You Submit
- Approved: You get an email with the date, time, location, and the items you're allowed to bring, plus a calendar invite. Your instructor may change the date or time. If they do, the email says so and shows what you originally asked for.
- Declined: You get an email with your instructor's reason. Talk to your instructor, then submit a new request if needed.
- Changed later: If your instructor edits an approved test, you get an updated email and calendar invite.
To see your requests, open My Booking and go to the Appointments tab.
To cancel, open the appointment and click Cancel. You can only cancel online before the cancellation deadline listed in the Service Policies. After that, contact the Testing Center.
On test day: Arrive on time and bring only the allowed items listed in your confirmation email. If you miss the appointment without canceling, it counts as a no-show.
